Meet The Doctor

Marissa Swan, DVM

Dr. Marissa Swan attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine of St. Kitts & Nevis. She graduated in 2019 after completing her clinical training at Texas A&M University. After graduation, she spent two years in a traditional small animal practice before transitioning into mobile veterinary medicine, where she discovered a more personal, flexible, and meaningful way to care for pets and the people who love them.

Dr. Swan is especially passionate about helping pet owners who may face barriers to accessing traditional veterinary care, including transportation challenges or other life circumstances that make a clinic visit difficult. She has a special place in her heart for senior pets, with a strong focus on palliative care, hospice support, and quality-of-life guidance to help make a pet’s final chapter as peaceful, comfortable, and dignified as possible. That passion extends beyond her work—three of her dogs she has welcomed into her family were all adopted as seniors, a reflection of the deep love and appreciation she has for older pets and the special bond they bring.

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Swan decided after graduating veterinary school that, after experiencing the Caribbean heat, she was more than ready to permanently abandon the snow and trade it for Texas sunshine. She now proudly calls the Spring, TX area home, where she shares her life with a wonderfully eclectic crew of animals, including Margarita (Lab mix), Zeppy (Miniature Dachshund), Migo (Domestic Shorthair), Fettuccini (Sulcata tortoise), and a 180-gallon saltwater aquarium- which keeps her connected to the ocean she misses so much.

When she’s not making house calls, Dr. Swan enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, shooting darts, and unwinding with TV—especially true crime series and documentaries and Friends. She also loves scuba diving and snorkeling, and after attending veterinary school in the Caribbean, she’s pretty sure she was a mermaid in a past life. She’s always looking for her next excuse to get back to the beach!

At the heart of everything she does, Dr. Swan believes veterinary care should be compassionate, practical, and tailored to each individual pet and family. She looks forward to bringing thoughtful, personalized care directly to your doorstep—and to meeting you and your pets along the way!
